This is a thought that I had as I perused the ‘Met Gallery like’ shoppe of a friend of mine. I could have literally stayed in that space for hours soaking up not just the sights, smells and sounds of the space she has so creatively curated but there was just something about being there that gave me peace, entertained my senses yet made me feel at home.
When I think of home, as complicated as my relationship has been with the concept over my lifetime, I continue to come back—over and over again—to the idea that home isn’t just a place we come to each day or where we store our stuff. Home is a place where our souls find rest.
